Your family breathes the air in your house every day, and in winter the windows stay shut. Here's what we keep an eye on.
Allergies and dust
If someone in your house deals with allergies, dirty ducts just keep blowing dust around. Your system pushes air through those ducts every single day, so whatever's built up in there ends up in the rooms you live in. Clean ducts and a fresh filter make a real difference in how much dust you see.
Carbon monoxide safety
You can't see or smell carbon monoxide, which is why a meter and a working detector matter. Put a CO detector on every level of your home and near bedrooms, test them, and change the batteries as the maker recommends.
Unvented gas heaters
Space heaters that burn gas without venting outside release what they burn right into the room. If you use one, have the air tested, keep a CO detector nearby, and never run a car, generator, or grill in the garage or indoors.
Older furnaces
Furnaces wear out with age. Cracked heat exchangers and worn parts are things you won't notice from the thermostat. A clean and check before heavy winter use tells you where yours stands, and we'll give you a straight answer on whether it needs a repair, a cleaning, or nothing at all.
If a CO alarm goes off, get everyone outside and call 911.
